The Benefits by Year portlet summarizes Benefit totals by year and is searchable by Project, OBS and Portfolio. The results display both Budgeted Benefit Plans and Forecast Plans and the associated Cost Plan. Benefits by year report provides the project manager a single place to view Benefit plan and its associated benefit for various years across multiple projects. Project Managers can use this report to analyze if the projects are giving intended benefits and take appropriate decisions accordingly. User can further narrow their search by OBS Type & Path, Investment Name, Investment Manager, Investment Type, Plan Type and Is Plan of Record?.

Benefits by year report provide the project manager a single place to view Benefit plan (Forecast /Budgeted) and its associated benefit for various years across multiple projects. Information is displayed in a bar graph and user can further drill down the details to investment level. Project Managers can use this report to analyze if the projects are giving intended benefits and take appropriate decisions accordingly. User can further narrow their search by OBS Type & Path, Plan Type (Budget/Forecast), Year and Is Plan of Record?.

This configuration and accompanying process allows users to capture Financial and Non-Financial (Metrics, Soft, etc.) Benefit in a custom sub-object, then programmatically create an out-of-the-box Benefit Plan with just the Financial Portion from the custom sub-object. The solution is comprised of:
- Sub-Object (Benefit Plan Details, Parent = Project)
- Process: Create Benefit Plan (uses sub-object as primary input, native BP is output)
- Process: Update sql - Cost Benefit Plans (one-time script to update Projects)
- Ensure on the Benefit Details List view the Planned and Realized Amounts are displayed
- Modifying the Create Benefit Plan Process in support of a BP naming convention consistent with local PMO Practices
- Modifying the Create Benefit Plan Process to link the BP to the Cost Plan of Record
- Creating a Portlet that pulls together rows of data from the sub-object across multiple projects in a summarized view as well as a detailed view

Part of the Business Transformation Package, this pie chart portlet shows planned benefits across the system grouped by Goal. The data is displayed form the investments in a portfolio. The portlet lets the Portfolio Manager know on which GOAL the planned benefit is allocated, so as to target the overall investment spread in the portfolio.
